Rules

All players must be 18 years of age. Kickball Tallahassee uses the official kickball rules published by the World Adult Kickball Association (WAKA) with a couple tweaks:

  • We are a Bunt-Eligible League for the purposes of the rulebook. This affects a couple rules including allowing 11 players on the field and allowing male players to bunt the ball.

Section 5: Teams

  • 5.02 – Gender Requirement (Override)
While fielding, each team must have at least 4 female players and at least 4 male players on the field at all times.
This requirement applies regardless of whether a team is fielding the minimum (8) or maximum (11) players.

Section 12: Balls

  • 12.02 – Walk Advancement (Override)
All walked kickers — including those walked on exactly four pitches without any strikes or foul balls — shall only advance to first base.
No two-base walks are awarded in this league.

Section 13: Fairs and Fouls

  • 13.01 – Foul Count (Override)
A count of four (4) fouls is an out. Foul balls never count as strikes.
  • 13.02k – Grounded Foul Balls
A ball that is on the ground in foul territory (not in the air) cannot be made fair by being touched from fair territory.
The location of the ball itself — not the position of the player — determines fair or foul.
  • 13.03h – Foul-to-Fair Infield Kick
A ball that starts in foul territory, but rolls into fair territory within the infield (i.e., before passing 1st or 3rd base), shall be considered a fair ball, provided it is not touched while in foul territory.
  • 13.03i – Homeruns
Any ball kicked into fair territory that then clears the outfield fence or leaves the field of play on the fly shall be ruled a home run.
  • 13.03j – Ground Rule Double
Any ball kicked into fair territory that then bounces over the outfield fence or designated boundary shall be ruled a ground rule double. The kicker and any forced runners shall advance two bases from their position at the time of the kick.

Section 15: Ball in Play

  • 15.02a (Override) - Interference
When any non-fielder or non-permanent object except a Referee or a runner, touches or is touched by a ball in play. This interference causes the play to end, and runners shall proceed to the base to which they were headed

All other rules are followed as written.
